A "Dice Mechanic"? Yes. The thing you do with the dice to determine an outcome. We'll use Python to see how the dice shake out.

I get asked about good books for beginners. Here's an example:

"What Python books do you recommend for novices so they can learn from beginner to advanced?"

For me, this is nearly impossible to answer.

"Beginner" is often undefined. I have to turn this around and ask what you already …

I've written a lot about CSV processing. Here are some examples {tag}csv.

It crops up in my books. A lot.

In all cases, though, I make the implicit assumption that my readers already know a lot of Python. This is a disservice to anyone who's getting started.
